Education Advisory Group

Minerva Education has an Education Advisory Group (EAG), made up of eminent educationalists, who will work closely with the schools to improve performance, ensuring that every child fulfils his or her own potential. The group consists of proven practitioners who are specialists in their own fields.


  • Jim Hudson OBE

    Director of Education

    Adviser to the Teacher Training Agency, National College for School Leadership, the Department for Education and OFSTED. Visiting Lecturer at Nottingham University, Buckingham University, and the National College for School Leadership.

  • Andrew Grant

    Adviser on Secondary Education

    Andrew Grant has been Headmaster of St Albans School since 1993. He was educated at Southend High School from where he won an Open Exhibition to read English at Corpus Christi College Cambridge.

    Advisor on English as an Additional Language

    Iva works across all the Minerva schools to lead and coordinate the effective provision in and out of class for pupils who come from another country and speak a language other than English at home.

  • Jeannette Bidder

    Advisor on Special Educational Needs

    Jeannette's passion for S.E.N.D. and safeguarding supported her as child protection officer in three schools, in Admissions and staff training (using personnel and marketing experience from industry), developing inclusive Creative Curriculum (skills-based) and inspiring whole school Thinking and Learning environments.

    Advisor on Staff Professional Development

    Bob's role is to work with Headteachers, Senior Leaders, Teachers to help them achieve outstanding practice, through the identification of objectives, through identifying professional development opportunities and by coordinating the provision of continuing professional development.

  • Lena Engel

    Advisor on EYFS

    Lena has worked as an Ofsted Early Years Inspector, supported teachers in schools to improve outcomes for children’s learning, and written for Nursery World Magazine. She trains, assesses and mentors early years practitioners, and offers advice and guidance to parents. She has joined the Minerva Education Advisory Group to support the Early Years Foundation Stage across the group’s schools.
